Polytech: selling design to people whose eye is already trained.

Polytech prints: branded apparel, promotional merchandise, commercial printing. Selling design to a company that manufactures design is one of the harder rooms in the business. We built the mark, palette and typography as a system that survives every surface from a pen to a building wrap, added a mascot and merch, and stayed on as the design bench behind their store.

The project

Task, approach, what went live

The task

Polytech’s customers put their own logos on Polytech’s products. The brand had to be memorable and friendly without competing with the customer’s mark on a T-shirt or a mug.

The mark, palette and type had to survive reproduction at every size on every surface, because that is literally what the client does all day.

The approach

We built the identity as a system: mark, palette, typography and rules that hold from a pen to a building wrap, delivered as a brandbook into the client’s Figma.

A custom mascot and merch designs show the print methods on the products themselves. Since June 2025 we have stayed on as the design bench behind the client’s store: category artwork, banner sets, animated key visuals. The store itself was built by the client’s team, not by us.

What went live

A brand identity with a brandbook, a mascot and merch designs, delivered into the client’s Figma; ongoing artwork for the store. The client owns the files and the rights.

What the site does

Seen on the live site, September 2026

  • Holds on every surface

A pen, a mug, a hoodie, a building wrap: one system.

  • Does not fight the customer’s logo

Friendly and recognisable without competing on the product.

  • A mascot with a job

The character shows print methods and makes a commodity brand memorable.

  • Ongoing bench

Category artwork and key visuals as the store grows.

“We ordered a brandbook and merch design. Everything was delivered straight into our Figma, so it was easy to work with, and the style came out exactly how we wanted. Really happy.”

Questions

Facts about the Polytech Print project

Did HeadPills build the Polytech website?

No. HeadPills made the brand identity, the brandbook, the mascot and the merch designs, and produces artwork for the client’s store. The store itself was built and is run by the client’s team.

What did the Polytech brand have to do differently?

Sit next to a customer’s own logo on a product without fighting it, and survive reproduction at every size on every surface, from a pen to a building wrap.

Does HeadPills still work with Polytech?

Yes, as the design bench behind the store since 2025: category artwork, banner sets and key visuals in the brand system.
